Power Engineering Dissertations - POWERED 2025 First Prize Award awarded to Sotirios Filippas
Our ECE Department at the University of Patras hosted the Workshop on 𝗣𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 – 𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗗 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, organized by the IEEE Greece Power and Energy Society Chapter. During the event, recent Electrical Engineering graduates presented their final-year project dissertations in the field of power and energy systems. We are proud to announce that the first prize was awarded to Sotirios Filippas (now part of the ENRICH team) for his dissertation titled “Design and Development of a High Power Density DC/DC Converter using Gallium Nitride Devices”, conducted under the supervision of Assistant Professor Georgios Kampitsis.

Engineering for Sustainability in Lightweight Systems invited talk by Dr. Georgios Kampitsis
Dr. Georgios Kampitsis has been invited to deliver a presentation on the importance of lightweight, compact and efficient power conversion in modern construction systems, at the the Engineering for Sustainability in Lightweight Systems Summer School, co-organized by the University of Patras, Greece and the Technical University of Dresden, Germany. The summer school will take place during the 23rd - 26th of October, at the University of Patras.

Infineon Summer School 2025
Panagiotis Adamopoulos, PhD Candidate, joined the Infineon SummerSchool 2025 in Villach, Austria, a five-day programme focused on the intersection of artificial intelligence and semiconductor development. It brought together students, researchers, and industry experts to explore AI-driven tools, semiconductor design challenges, and sustainable computing. Key sessions included live demonstrations, technical workshops, and discussions around AI model deployment in semiconductor hardware.
